RLSH Work: RLSH Support

  • 2 min read

RLSH Support is the invisible support system for the RLSH community, but at the same time is essential for the community to survive.

Types of support:

  • Networking, website administration

  • Uniform construction and design

  • Training

  • Writing articles, books, and white papers

  • Podcasting or other media

  • Tech for RLSH

  • Legal and law enforcement expertise

  • RLSH networking with local businesses

  • Other

RLSH Support is often done by retired RLSH, experts who don’t want to be an RLSH, or active RLSH hoping to help their fellow heroes out.  Really, support can be done by nearly anyone who wants to support real life superheroes. If you live in a low-crime community or in an area with long cold winters (reducing your own patrols), you might want to consider filling some time with support work.

Assist with RLSH Support:

  • RLSH Wiki - looking for assistance updating their records

  • Herocore - looking for assistance writing articles

Start Support:

You may be interested in starting some form of support.  It takes an idea and some skill.  Here are 5 ideas to get you thinking.  See if you can come up with some of your own ideas.

  1. RLSH Custom Uniforms - If you can sew and are capable of creative armor construction, you can make a few dollars by making custom RLSH uniforms.  The goal is to make something to express that hero’s personality, durability, and has the features the heroes need.

  2. RLSH Legal Advice - You may be a lawyer or law enforcement who support the RLSH movement, but cannot actively participate.  While you may not be able to give legal advice, you may be able to write legal articles aimed at the RLSH community, provide legal suggestions, or something along those lines.

  3. Business Networking - There has been almost no effort in the RLSH community to make note of RLSH-friendly businesses in cities with active RLSH.  This could help local heroes find a place to use a toilet or to grab a bite to eat after patrol.

  4. Hero Camp - If you have a plot of land with a cabin or something like that, you may be able to have a limited-numbers week-long hero camp featuring different types of training, practice with tech, scenario training, etc.  This would also promote community.

  5. Hero App - You may be a techie with the ability to create a sweet app that can help track crime in real time.  Maybe you could work with someone doing business networking and add in locations of RLSH-friendly businesses.

Legal Eagles

For those legal eagles out there looking at being RLSH support, please make sure that you do it in the proper way. If there is someone out there offering some legal advice to RLSH - heroes, don't abuse it. There are limits as to what can be offered up without them being hired on. Legal and law enforcement support will probably have this stated somewhere as a disclaimer. Just be aware of it.
