Finding RLSH Community

If you search online for an RLSH community, you’ll find what feels like remnants: subreddits that are kind of active, some groups of various active levels on facebook (if you still use facebook), and some websites that have been defunct for a while.  Herocore was created because I had trouble finding people, community.

Do I still talk to some old friends?  Sure, but not in any sort of community setting.

Finding others in the RLSH community, which is quite small in 2025, is difficult.

What about finding some local person interested in RLSH work?  Someone to patrol with?

It is definitely easier to get out and do things if you have a partner.  If this was 2005, I would suggest posting a Craigslist ad in your area.  In 2025, Craigslist is still around, but does anyone really use it anymore?  Maybe it’s just not as popular in my area.  If you are on some sort of social media platform, you can make a post about looking for others in your area.  You may want to consider costumed meet up or a patrol meet up.

You can start recording your patrols and posting them, or posting clips from your patrols and making patrol logs.  This may garner some attention and you can regularly mention that you’re looking for others. Herocore actually has a "Patrol Log" space for members, if you're interested; otherwise you can set up a quick blog through Blogger or something just for patrol logs. The patrol logs, when they start, will appear in the blog article listing with the category "Patrol Log".

I have a hard time finding community. In fact, I have a hard time finding friends. I would like to find a fellow RLSH to patrol with, even if we're just "patrol friends". Once a week patrol ending with a cup of coffee or something.

Anyway, I wish I had more inspiration and direction for you. All I can really suggest is: get started. Actions speak louder than words, so just get out there and start walking your patrol route(s). I'm sure people will show up in your life that need to be there.
